DISCUSSION QUESTIONS FOR “GROUNDED”
How did you feel reading this book? Were you amused, intrigued, confused, disappointed......?
How do you like/dislike the writer’s style?
Did any passages strike you as insightful? If so, what are they?

If you had to choose one lesson the author was trying to teach in this story, what would it be?

Her father told her, “You know as well as I do that we don’t decide which hand we are dealt, only the way we play it. Do you agree? And.....Do you agree that when the other player is cheating, the rules of the game don’t apply anymore?
Talk about the contrast between the two lifestyles Lydia experienced. Have you ever been in a situation where things were drastically different and you had to make decisions based on the current circumstances? How did that make you feel? Do you think she was faithful to her convictions, at least in the end?
